Becoming ​​​​an interpreter requires ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​a ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​high degree of ​​​​​​linguistic​​, cognitive and technical skills.

  • Interpreting takes a committed individual to develop and maintain the skills needed to achieve certification.

  • Interpreting requires physical stamina, endurance and the ability to emotionally handle an assignment and adhere to confidentiality.

  • Interpreters necessitates a comprehensive knowledge of the English language, the ability to speak clearly and be audibly heard, and to convey the spirit of the speaker, whether they are voicing or sign interpreting .   

Professional Credentials are important to measure an interpreter’s qualifications. 

Credentials are obtained by passing a standardized assessment of interpreting skills.
